This experimental unit features a precision-bore glass pipe held vertically and a transparent acrylic constant head tank for clear flow visibility. Water enters the reservoir, passes through a stilling bed, and flows steadily into the test tube via a shaped bell-mouth. A thermometer measures the water temperature in the reservoir, while an overflow pipe connects to a drain. A valve at the test pipe’s bottom controls the flow rate without disturbing the flow. Students determine flow rate by collecting water in a measuring cylinder over time. A dye injector allows visualization of flow patterns, and adjustable feet ensure proper leveling.
