Pressure losses occur due to jet deflection at the inlet and wall friction within the opening, reducing actual discharge compared to theoretical flow rates. The effects of different diameters and contours on flow characteristics can be analyzed, including the contraction coefficient. A measuring device captures the issued water jet, while a Pitot tube detects total pressure for velocity determination. The unit is compatible with the EDC-FM-100 base module or a laboratory water supply.
